Oy...

  • May. 2nd, 2008 at 10:19 PM

I feel like crap. Which is pretty inconvenient at the moment, cuz my kid is having a birthday/slumber party and the house is full of girls. So, far it hasn't been the horror show I was expecting.

What sucks, is all of a sudden, my stomach starting hurting. Maybe it was the pizza...

:) Now they're down here in the living room playing the Wii. They're so cool. Girly has good friends.

Tomorrow, I'm taking them out to Comic Book, Ink. May 3rd is National Free Comic Book Day. So, the girls are getting a ton of free comic books. We did it last year and she had a good time. We figured, why not make a day of it.

Btw, I got a new toy! I bought a PS2 and three games. I have Silent Hill 2 & 4, and Girly has Kingdom Hearts 2. Very fun. I'm really digging the horror/survival games. Because this, the game console has to be in my bedroom, as Girly is not allowed to play those games and can't be in the room when I play them. They're pretty hardcore.

Well, I'm feeling a little better. Think I'm going to play me some Wii Bowling. (Holy shit, I'm such a gamer. I need a hobby. Badly!)

I'm out.

And another one...

Remus LupinYou like to be liked. You are very timid when faced with a fight, but you are not a coward. You are brave when you thoroughly believe in what you are fighting for.Your friends mean the world to you, and no amount of responsibility could change that. You think of yourself as a burden, and you push people away as an effort to save them from you.You are a gentle, good person, but sometimes let your fears of disappointing others get the best of you, forcing you to run from them. You would do just about anything for the people who accept you, including cutting them too much slack.Because of problems that you are forced to cope with, you sometimes have difficulty keeping your spirits up in bad situations, but you still manage to do so.

"It's still alive..."

I saw Cloverfield over the weekend with Severion. We had the best time! :) I have always been a sucker for big, dumb monster movies, since I grew up on Godzilla, Mothra, etc. Great films. This one did not disappoint. Everyone kept saying I would get motion sickness because it was filmed with a hand-held camera, but that didn't affect me at all. I saw Blair Witch Project at the theater and it didn't bother me either.

I didn't take the job at Comcast. If I had, it would have been at least a $500.00 a month cut in pay. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I get bored. I've been in my current position for 4 years. That's long for me. I have always moved on to other jobs, went back to school, etc. Now, that we have settled into this house, and Girly is in junior high, it's getting harder and harder just to quit when I get restless. My man said, if I'm going to find another job, it has to pay me as much or more than I'm making now. He hated the idea of me doing this and he was right. As I right this, I realize what a stupid decision that would have been to take the job. God, I need to grow up.

Sometimes I'll look around at random LiveJournal journals, just to see who else is out there and I found this:

Sympathy, Empathy, & Compassion

  • Jan. 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 PM
Brandon
Got this from a very good friend.

~*X*~

about the difference between sympathy, empathy and compassion.

Sympathy
A man sees another man struggling and about to drown in the middle of the
lake, so he swims out to rescue him. He gets bogged down with the man's
weight and they both drown.

Empathy
A man sees another man struggling and about to drown in the middle of the
lake, so he ties a rope around his waist and throws the other end out to the
man in the lake. The drowning man pulls him in and they both drown.

Compassion
A man sees another man struggling and about to drown in the middle of the
lake, so he ties a rope to a tree and throws the other end out to the man
and shouts, "Quickly, save your self!"

I think the energy piece here is to remain grounded in your center while
feeling other people's suffering and offering help, just like tying a rope
to the tree.

Thank you, fabax_gzaars. :)

Busy day...for a Saturday

  • Jan. 12th, 2008 at 6:13 PM

Damn, I've been busy.

The landlord for our townhouse will be here Tuesday to look at the house. An inspection. Their going to replace things that need to be replaced and fix things that need to be fixed. Ravensfey has been coming in once a week to keep the house up, that is, except the girly's room, mine and the man's room and the master bathroom. So, we've kind of let those areas go. :::enter sheepish grin here::: I'm taking a break. Holy crap, we're slobs. Thank God, for Ravensfey. I'd hate to think what we'd do if we had to clean the rest of the house. We lead such busy lives, it's impossible to keep up with the cleaning.

Also, I'm in my office. Woo hoo! Or the HaBeeBe as Phranq has titled it. :) Private joke. lol It has been so long since I've been able to work/play in here. I love it. I bought a new chair at HellMart (walmart) and now my back doesn't hurt so much when I type.

Oh, yeah! I forgot to mention that my books came in. I had ordered Logospilgrim's books back in the middle of December and now they're here. I know it was the picture book that caused the order to take a while, but they were well worth the wait. I can't wait to begin reading them.

And for all you Star Wars fan (and especially Han Solo fans), enjoy!!

Back to work!

Yeah, still putting off the inevitable...

I should be sleeping...

  • Jan. 6th, 2008 at 11:02 PM

But I don't want to go to bed. I'm not in the mood. I have to work tomorrow, but whatever.

What type of Fae are you?

I applied for a job at Comcast. I'm of the attitude, if I get it, great. If not, I'm still employed. I'm really getting burned out at my job. The pay is good, I guess, but I feel overworked and a lot of what I do, gets put off. So, I never seem to finish any of my tasks. I do have an assistant, but there is only so much she can do. Ugh. I'm stressin' thinking about it.

Here's a game I got for Christmas. It's for the Nintendo DS. Or what I call Techno-Crack.

I have a lot of cute games, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Cooking Mama, etc. But this is straight up horror. It's like Silent Hill. It's awesome. I'm only on chapter 3, but that's all right. I'm having fun with it.

Now, I'm boring myself. Sorry, to anyone who read this.

I'm out.

A pleasant surprise...

  • Jan. 4th, 2008 at 11:41 PM
Logospilgrim
These past couple of days have been unusual to say the least. Work has been a bitch. I'm not going to mince words, it has been hell. Short weeks only mean more work. I hate it, because I'm the only one there who knows how to do my job. So, it doesn't get done till I return. All this week (all 3 days of it; the week before, I only worked 2 days), I've been playing catch up, and I'm still not done. Next week proves to be even worse. I am so looking forward to it. :P Needless to say, I'm getting a little burned out.

On the other hand, I have received a couple of awesome surprises. I received a package from Professor Logospilgrim on Wednesday and on Thursday she replied to the letter I wrote her. These were such an unexpected and welcome surprise. I feel so honored to know her. Whether she realizes it, or not, her words have been such a comfort for me. I had studied many different religions, and now I feel as if I'm in a state of limbo. Her presence has brought me around and I believe I'm now finding my way back to God. She showed me God is not judgmental, but forgiving and accepting. Despite what others might say.

So, if you are reading this Professor, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me. You have saved me and I don't feel as though I'm drowning anymore.

Btw, my icon is a picture of the Professor. If you want to know more about this amazing person, check out her website. www.logospilgrim.com

Happy Birthday to my man!!

  • Dec. 29th, 2007 at 3:05 PM

Today he is 44. And as I said to him last night, he gets hotter and hotter with every birthday. I dig the older men. };-) He's 5 years older than me.

Girly and I are going to take him out today. Maybe to go see a movie, maybe dinner, maybe both. Who knows. But today is for him.

I love you, baby. :) Here's a video for him. He's really into Dream Theater right now. Enjoy!

Hahahahahahahahaw!!

Since I don't watch much tv, I have never seen these commercials before. As I was saying goodnight to my girly, and in her usual manner, she kept putting off going to bed. She did it by telling me about these Snickers commercials with a viking, a pilgrim, a roman, a king, and a Hawaiian warrior. I found them on YouTube. They are the funniest damn commercials ever!!

Here's a couple:

ROTFLMAO!!

Yang!

  • Dec. 6th, 2007 at 10:02 PM

I got At World's End for Hanukkah!! I love my man!!! I'm going to try and stay up and watch the whole thing. Yeah, right. :P

Unfortunately, when I first opened it (pardon my french), but some dildo had stolen the dvds right out of the case. So, he had to go back to the store and replace it. When will people learn? Get an effin' job and by the damn dvd. That's one of the reasons why dvds and cds are so expensive. Loser assholes that are too lazy to earn anything. I am so burned out on this shit.

Movie's starting. I'm out!

"I am Jack's smirking revenge..."

  • Dec. 5th, 2007 at 10:23 PM

Another great film tonight, kiddies. Fight Club. Damn, I love this movie. It came out in '99. That made me think about all the great films that came out at that time. At least, to me.

Fight Club
American Beauty
Jawbreaker
The Blair Witch Project
Mansfield Park
The Matrix
The Sixth Sense

To name a few. Of course, it's the same year Showgirls came out. LOL I'm sure there are others, and I know there are those who would disagree, but I like them. I only speak for myself.

"I am Jack's inflamed sense of rejection." I just love to listen to the dialogue from this movie. Everything in this movie is so gritty, dirty, and unpleasant. There is nothing cute, pretty, or glamorous. Even Brad Pitt isn't pretty in this. It's definitely not a feel-good movie. Stories like these are refreshing sometimes.

Well, I'm going to go back to reading some fanfic. Oh, Fox, how I miss thee. Oy, my sleeping pill is kicking in. Would probably explain the rambly post.

The Truth is Out There

  • Dec. 2nd, 2007 at 11:40 PM

And it will be seen on July 25th of next year. The X-Files sequel in July and Half-Blood Prince in November? I think my head is going to explode!!!

Holy shit, I can't wait!! I stopped watching tv shows because The X-Files went off the air. There hasn't been a show like it since. Damn, I miss it.
